Original collaborators, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie decided to ask a new generation of artists to rerecord the song to benefit those in Haiti. The original “We Are The World” was recorded 25 years ago and was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie with Quincy Jones producing the recording. The original recording generated over $30 Million to help impoverished people in Africa.
