“No matter what it takes, I’m not going to let this child die…I sent people all over the world to find a liver for him…I was so happy when I got a phone call and they said, ‘We found the liver.’” – Michael Jackson
On a visit to Budapest in 1994, Michael and then-wife Lisa Marie Presley met Bela Farkas in the hospital. Little Bela had a terminal liver disease and would die without a transplant. Michael not only found a donor, but paid for the surgery, and continued to pay for Farkas’ medical care for years afterwards.
Today, Bela Farkas is a father of a healthy baby girl and says he will always be grateful to Michael for saving his life.
