Elijah Johnson who performs as MJ in MJ the Musical on Broadway says that he’s learned so much from choreographers Rich and Tone Talauega who started their careers as dancers for Michael. "I’ve been dancing for a long time, so I think I know how to do the Michael moves. And so much of the feedback has been from the [Talauega] brothers: "that’s pretty good, but you’re doing this wrong,’ or they’ll say, ‘It’s this foot, not that foot.’ But they gave me the space to nail down the moves." Tickets currently available now through January 5th, 2025 https://newyork.mjthemusical.com/

The Guardian on the MJ the Musical UK: "It’s Myles Frost, from the original show, who stands out. He has all the moves, and his feet slide along the floor as if it were slippery butter. He is scintillatingly elegant in the remastering of Billie Jean – complete with suitcase, sequined black jacket and sparkling glove – and his Thriller is thrilling, as it needs to be." MJ the Musical continues its Broadway run. Okayplayer writes that Elijah Rhea Johnson’s performance as MJ is an "unbelievable revelation. Johnson possesses an outstanding vocal range and jaw-dropping dance skills. There is a particular moment during the show when he hit a perfect Moonwalk and the crowd immediately erupted in thunderous applause. He also tore the house down with phenomenal performances of ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ and a raucous ‘Thriller’ rendition that will absolutely take your breath away." Denver Post’s theater critic on MJ the Musical’s US national touring company: "The Michaels are all that and a bag of chips. The beautiful trick that [Roman] Banks pulls off as the adult MJ is to embody, not merely mimic. Sure, the actor speaks in that soft voice, even when Michael is demanding something of his manager, his dancers, his agent. Yes, he robots and moonwalks. And still, Banks brings an aura that is his own." Find MJ the Musical in your city through August of 2025: https://tour.mjthemusical.com/schedule/ #MJtheMusicalTour

MJ the Musical has officially arrived on the West End! According to the London Theatre review, this production is "unbeatable entertainment. The show is a reclamation of Jackson the artist, the man who diligently analyzed other people’s successful work, who had the foresight to shift into new genres and who, in a truly glorious sequence here, pays tribute to his dance heroes….."
