Michael Jackson’s ‘Tabloid Junkie’ Released On ‘HIStory’ Album
June 20, 1995
Michael Jackson - HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I

Michael Jackson wrote and produced “Tabloid Junkie” with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as a track for the second disc of HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. The song was not released as a single, but received praise from music critics who considered it one of the album’s highlights. The lyrics express frustration with a “hounding media” that slanders “with your pen” to “torture men.”

The verses on “Tabloid Junkie” are delivered quick and sharp, while Michael’s vocals soar on the chorus and harmonize on the hook:

Just because you read it in a magazine
Or see it on the TV screen
Don’t make it factual, actual
