May 15, 2008

The US Library of Congress has officially added Michael Jackson’s Thriller to its National Recording Registry. In an effort to preserve records deemed “culturally and aesthetically significant”, the Library has archived the album’s “best existing version” its existence in perpetuity. Aside from being the biggest selling album of all time, Thriller also contained seven #1 hit singles, remained on Billboard’s Top 10 for one year, won the Grammy award for Best Album and was recently inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
