Michael wasn’t concerned when some people called his Off The Wall album “disco,” at a time the genre was facing some backlash. “I hate labels because it should be just music. I don’t see anything wrong with disco. Every Friday night and Saturday… every disco is packed. People worked all week, they want to party, they want to have a good time, and they want to dance. You have to dance to rhythm, to a beat….”
