March 10th will always be an important day in music history as it was the date in 1983 when Michael’s short film for “Billie Jean” debuted on MTV, becoming the first music video by a Black artist put into heavy rotation. Walter Yetnikoff, President at CBS Records at the time, was instrumental in pushing the network to air it.
