Okay, so we all know 'This Is It ' is an old track, and we know the brothers are on it in order to earn performance royalties. And yes, it's upsetting to think that what Michael considered an acceptable standard before a song should be publicly presented has clearly not been adhered to; but as far as musical legacies go, I don't think Michael Jackson's is in any danger. His catalogue, hits and musical ascendancy are peerless. His music transcends race, language and generations, more than that - it is, like Michael - immortal. There is nothing left for him prove. I say this to remind some of the fans who have posted on here ( and who I know in reality are only saying negative things because they are grieving so hard and wanted this release to be amazing ); - that the real battle is not with Sony, who, like any commercial company are naturally seeking to maximize their yield and profit.

It is important that we, as fans, remember Michael Jackson's estate ( which directly benefits his children) will receive 80% of the monies and profit share earned from ticket sales of the movie, the album, opus, posters, exhibitions and so on. The estate is by no means in the clear yet solvency-wise as there are a high number of debt claims and suits that have been made against the estate that need to be honoured. We must keep in mind the bigger picture. We, the worldwide fan community need to be organized, clear-thinking and ready to send any release of Michael's to the top of the billboard ( and any other ) chart to make sure Michael stays heard, recognized and relevant. Save your anger and your energy for those who deserve it. You know who they are. The real battle lies in making sure that those who hurt and adandoned, slandered and ultimately contributed to the degradation and erosion of Michael's joy and spirit while he lived; do not now profit from his death. I am of course talking about Rabbi Shmuley, Ian Halpern, Nancy Grace, Diane Dimond, Gloria Allred, Martin Bashir and Tom Sneddon. Redirect your rage and your anger away from Sony who are simply doing what all record giants do, and instead let us join together and boycott Shmuley's book. There is no need to buy it, it is available for download on this very site.

Dazzleilluso - you are so right and speak so well. Please MJ fans, do not buy Schmuley's book - please. Why give this man money when Michael obviously didn't want those tapes to be heard and read by all. Schmuley should be ashamed of himself. He was not a true friend to Michael and now he wants to make money off of him.

You can tell that there is something wrong with Michael. He was giving it all he had but he was definitely not well, He was so thin! I blame AEG for contibuting to his death. Fifty shows - I don't think he could have done five - in fact - he couldn't do any. My heart breaks for his children.

Okay so I will be going to the movie but not the premiere! Since that it falls on a weekday just after midnight ,I have to be alert 'cause of thousands of little children to help take care of and feed at the elementary school, so- it will be that weekend that I go to the downtown Regal Theatre.
With me-THOSE AND ALL CHILDREN ALWAYS ARE FIRST PRIORITY~! I have to go on a weekend so that I can get sleep and focus on taking care of the elementary school kids...

Shmuley and Michael had not been in correspondence for the last six years of Michael's life, largely because Shulmey turned his back on Michael when he faced charges in 2003, but also - allegedly, due to financial irregularites Michael noticed concerning money he had given Shmuley for fundraising. An experienced pundit on the media circuit, Shulmey wears his Rabbi credentials with slick flair as he currently does the rounds on chat shows in the States. He talks up a good pitch about the book being something Michael and he had always planned to write together to show a more sympathetic side of Michael to the public, a public, Shmuley assures us, is ' now ready ' to judge Michael ' more charitably ' - now that he had the good grace to die. Quite how publicizing sensationalist quotes about Hitler and Madonna figures into this stated aim has not yet, however, been credibly answered by Shmuley.

The truth is, these often emotionally gruelling recordings are not - as Shmuley insists, part of preparations for any book but are in fact recordings of therapy sessions between Michael and Schmuley, made when they were still speaking to each other. It speaks volumes that Michael did not attempt to have these tapes published when he was alive, likewise it speaks volumes about Shmuley that he has - now Michael is dead. For it is clear that Shmuley has not decided to publish out of some lingering affection for Michael. Throughout the scattered, meanderings of this so-called ' book' Shmuley offers us sweeping statements suggesting Michael was a misogynist obsessed with the idea of messiah-hood, who could ' certainly be guilty of unspeakable crimes.' Leading Rabbi, Michael Sternfield commented recently that Shmuley has broken Judaic law and most people's definition of morality by betraying the confidence and trust placed in him.

Whether you loved or loathed Michael, most people would regard it as a basic human right to be able to speak freely, share one's innermost feelings about horrendous abuse, be rational or otherwise in a therapeutic setting without fear of being ridiculed or quoted out of context. Michael did not intend these tapes ever to become public, and now when he cannot speak for himself, his most private thoughts and feelings are being flogged on the open market. Despite Shmuley's claims that this was a consensual effort with Michael, I am certain most people will recognize this book for what it is - a shameless act of exploitative betrayal with grubbiness at its heart. If I may add this finally, I understand fans or the merely curious wanting to hear Michael's voice and it is not them I have an issue with. If you want to listen to the tapes go to youtube, the audio has been uploaded. Just please don't buy this shabby little book. We, as a community of fans, have the power to refuse to be a part of 'enabling' Shmuley to profit from Michael's death. Personally, I am hoping Shmuley has grossly miscalculated the strength of feeling out there about what he has done. I am hoping there are enough people who still believe there is such a thing as common decency. Because for me, the truth is this simple: - to love someone is not to betray them.

Thank you very much for your commentary Deborah. I have some other two cents to speak of:

The Michael that they will display in THIS IS IT! is not the same Michael that many of us grew up with. Sony, you did’nt do a good job in promoting this man’s last three albums: History, Blood on the Dance Floor, and particularly Invincible, especially in the United States. Why do you want to promote this movie of rehersals now that he is no longer with us on the physical realm? He was going to do these concerts in another country that appreciated him somewhat more than the one he was born into. So why now? Why do you promote him, and not even him, but a shadow of his image and likeness?

Why I ask you, why?

Every since his passing when they would show the rehearsal clip on television, it was too obvious to me something was not right, though you heard people saying “He looks healthy. He looks good.” What kind of drugs are YOU on, I was saying to these media commentators, and the AEG opportunist. Jesus Christ!

If they came after Jesus Christ, why would not they come for someone like Michael and the rest of us who are for the good, the Love, and the Beauty of God!

Every since he was a child he had the most beautiful smile. This new millennium that we’ve come into, we’re did his smile go? Where did he go?

Heart broken so, and sorry you had to leave Michael God I’m so sorry. Rest better in Peace.

This is the nature of the man who now steps forward to tell us Michael wanted the tapes released as part of a book. Really? A notoriously, chronically shy artist like Michael would be happy that these emotionally gruelling, unedited therapy sessions are now being flogged on the open market. The reality is that these tapes were recorded as part of ongoing therapeutic relationship between Schmuley and Michael when they were still on speaking terms. It speaks volumes that when in 2005 the court case was behind him, Michael did not attempt to reinitiate ties with Schmuley or publish the tapes in his lifetime. Leading Rabbi Michael Sternfield commented in The Huffington Post recently, Schmuley has overstepped the remit of a Rabbi in breaching the confidence and trust placed in him. Despite Schmuley's protestations that Michael wanted this published to ' bring the family together,' I am certain most people with a modicum of intelligence will recognize this book for what it is - a shameless, money-making act of exploitative betrayal and greed with a dangerous agenda at its heart. We all long to hear Michael's voice, some may even need to - but this isn't the way. Please don't reward Schmuley for how he treated Michael while he lived. You can hear the tapes on you tube, you don't need to line Schmuley's pocket. On Dateline and Larry King, Schmuley called Michael a misogynist with a 'messiah complex,' who may well have been guilty of 'unspeakable crimes.' He did not stand for Michael and is most definitely not his friend. Schmuley, instead pursued the subtextual and unspoken line that Michael may have been guilty of molestation but shouldn't be blamed for it due to his own childhood abuse. This is a dangerous book for Michael's name and legacy and as a fan community we must not support it. We are strong, but only if we stand together. Michael asked us if we would be there. My answer is:
