A new MJ for the Broadway production of MJ the Musical: Matte Martinez, pictured, will assume the title role starting September 2 at the Neil Simon Theater. Martinez, who made his Broadway debut in the hit musical in October 2023 and is currently the standby for the lead role, will succeed Elijah Rhea Johnson, who will play his final performance August 31.
