I'm a fan because Michael's loving, giving, sweet spirit oozes from him and is electrically magnetic. He cared about the world - the environment, animals, all people, and children. He gave more than probably any other single human on earth in terms of his own money. When Michael smiled, you were seeing the most beautiful thing on Earth. He had a fire burning inside him that was white hot and let loose when he danced. No one else can even hope to dance like that. Michael wrote lyrics that spoke to the emotions, thoughts, and experiences of my own life. He created moments on film that inspired many of my childhood dreams (I wanted to be Katie!). When I close my eyes and listen to Michael's voice, it cuts deep into my heart and affects me on a level that no other sound can. Although the soft, slow songs are my favorite, my first favorite song was a legendary dance tune. As a toddler, I rocked to "Beat It" and have been dancing to his music ever since. There is nothing better than being on a dance floor when a Michael song begins. A wave of excitment and pure joy blasts through me for a few short minutes while the song reverberates through the dancing bodies all around me. I literally am lost in the music.
In the end, all of these little reasons culminate into one truth: I first loved Michael for the sweetness and goodness I recognized within him. Watching him struggle these past years has made me want to fight for him, to give myself to his cause - if only I had met him! I feel for this amazing man the purest form of love I have ever known. It is based solely on his beautiful heart and spirit. It asks nothing of him and wants to give everything to him. That is the magic of Michael - we love him desperately.
