Michael Jackson Michael Jackson Will Be A Part Of 'We Are The World' Remake (sorry if it was posted before!!)
Sorry if it was already posted, I read some pages to make sure first it wasn't.
Would it be true?? I hope it is.
----
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The late Michael Jackson will appear in the 25th anniversary remake of "We Are The World," Access Hollywood has learned.
Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones, who, along with Michael, masterminded the original version in 1985, told Access' Shaun Robinson on Wednesday that the King of Pop's original vocals and footage would be used in the song and video. Michael will appear posthumously in a split-screen with sister Janet Jackson joining him.

"To have Michael's presence singing his part is the best gift we could ever get," Lionel said. "His original image and him seeing his part."
Lionel called the duet with Janet "magical."

"She's singing with Mike," Lionel said. "It was all put together with fabulous choreography. It's magical."
The request came straight from Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother, herself, the pair told Access.
Michael is the only star to appear on both versions. The rest of the dozens of singers (not to mention rappers and actors) involved will be a new group - for a new generation.

"My daughter Sophie - [when she was] 5 years old, 6 years old -- she came to me and said, 'Dad, we learned a new song in school, 'We Are The World,' and I found out you wrote it with Michael Jackson," Lionel explained. "How do we give it to the next generation? And [my daughter] Nicole [Richie], with her kid -- she was 4 years old. And now she's in this one holding Harlow."
"And my two daughters," Quincy added. "They were all babies together."
Other performers involved in the remake range from young stars such as Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers to Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett.
"When you say you're going to redo, it conjures up al kinds of terrible images of what could go wrong. Everything could go wrong!" Lionel said. "Once we got there, we realized, who do we give the power to? A totally new group. And we put the icons in, of course -- Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion -- because that's the ground floor of what will make the excitement come from the newer people, to stand next to those people."
And Lionel added that the good vibes were flowing in the studio.
"Snoop was having the best time of his life, just standing there next to Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand. "It was just a wonderful group of people together."
Money raised from the single, due shortly, will go toward Haiti relief.

"Almost" perfect! Thanks to those powers that be!
That is indeed fantastic news!
So glad to hear that Michael will be featured once and for all - as it should be, as a virtual "duet" with Janet. However, the real tearjerker will be the culmination of the song being the poem recited by the children. Oh, I'm crying already as I type..............
Good, I'm glad they are keeping Michael in the song. I got really worried there for a while that they would take him out. It just wouldn't be the same without him.
This is great that Michael part will be kept in the song. This brighten my day.
Look what the voice of the fans and the request of Katherine can do.
Michael is just smiling down at us and his family.
Thank God. I was really worried he would be left out of the remake. He more than deserves to be a part of it.
With LOVE
YES MICHAEL....They are not going to forget you after all...

JONES: Yes.
RICHEY: Yes.
JONES: At -- at his mother's request, and our desire.
RICHEY: Our desire. Yes.
JONES: We -- we -- we kept Michael's -- Michael -- when we did the last one, we requested him to be there right after the AMA's at 10:00 o'clock, to be on the mic, to sing the lead as a demo for the rest of the people.

yaaaay
hopefully thats true
I just read it and raced here to post- and it's posted. I am SOOO happy right now! It only made sense- I hoped for this outcome, but was really too scared to believe it would happen. When I heard about the "green screen" person in the filming, it became pretty obvious.
Great news! And we needed some good news.
I think they changed it and was gonna have Janet sing in his place, I hope they included him, that would be so nice.......
sorry triple post PC gone crazy.........
I saw this on the internet as well. I hope it is for sure true. They couldn't in all good conscious have left Michael off the remake. He wrote the song! I'm sure they realize that including Michael on the remake will sell millions more copies than if he was excluded. It would be a snub to him & the Jackson Family as well.
Yeah!! I was so sad before, because it felt like MJ was removed from the song, I'm glad they have some heart after all.
Well thank you for posting this Diana, reading it brought happy tears to my eyes! I am so happy that they are going to include one of the most important people to help create the song in 1985. Michael should not ever be forgotten when it comes to this song. To have Janet do a duet with him, is even more heartwarming. I cannot wait to see it during the Olympics, it wil be very emotional I am sure! ♥
If it's true then i am very happy... Michael should not miss, his voice is the cherry on the cake

I very much like the idea, old singers with new..is a beautiful combination ,will be more colorful ,as a rainbow full of love and hope
