THE JACKSONS UNITY TOUR 2012

HEY EVERYBODY,

MY SISTER AND I JUST LEFT THE JACKSONS UNITY TOUR HERE IN DETROIT AT THE FOX THEATRE. (1) THE TICKETS WERE NOT SOLD OUT (2) DID NOT START ON TIME..STARTED @ 8:30PM AND WAS OVER AT 10:00PM. (3) THE SOUND SYSTEM WAS AWFUL-COULD NOT HERE THEM AT SOMETIME (4) THEY WERE TAKING TURN SINGING THE LEAD..AND I WISH THEY WOULD HAD JUST PLAYED THE MUSIC AND THEY WOULD SING ALONG WITH IT.

I CRIED WHEN (JERMAINE) WAS SINGING "'GONE TOO SOON" AND SHOWING PICTURES OF MICHAEL. THE CROWD WAS THE MAJORITY OF (OLD SCHOOL) 45 AND OVER MIX IN WITH A FEW UNDER 45 PEOPLE. I WOULD GIVE THE CONCERT A 6 1/2 OUT OF 10. I HEARD THAT THEY WAS GOING TO HAVE A (HOLOGRAM) OF MICHAEL--NOT TRUE AT ALL,

@French Toast, I have not seen the show, I was interested in reading

reviews on the show, the good and the bad, a balanced perspective.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show Smiling

@Ericakane, Thanks for your lovely PM. I'm glad you had a change of heart after reading my post. I love this thread and would like to hear more from other fans, who saw the show. Smiling

There is no doubt, that without Michael, it is not the same and I am not going to pretend that there wasn't a feeling of emptiness! But where can we go to feel close to Michael, and feel his presence, if not with his brothers sharing memories from his past, his input, and his life. It was ''just another part of '' Michael, that I felt compelled to be a part of. For a brief moment, I forgot my own grief, and empathized with the brother's. They truly love Michael and it was so apparent.

@Bobbi-Joy, @luna
Thanks for sharing. I feel the same. Eye-wink

I wish I could see them in concert because it might make me feel less sad about Mikes death, I don`t know about closure.

Saw the show last night at the Apollo Theater... honestly, I expected to be disappointed but I had a wonderful time and the brothers put on a beautiful, inspiring, and loving show. I enjoyed it very much and in some wierd way I almost feel 'proud' of them?? I broke down into heaving uncontrollable "ugly" cries several times because although his siblings were clearly celebrating his life and his work- I missed him more than air. I know that you can all understand. They did a great job and if you have the opportunity to see the show- GO! Long Live the King.

Thank you for the link, Jax02
Not surprising if they don't not sound right..
So empty without Michael...

Interesting review from the nydailynews......

Without Michael, the "Jackson 4" does not sound quite right.......

Thank you so much for the updates on the concert. I'm so jealous! Smiling I wish I could have seen them! My hubby and I had tickets for the July show in Nashville, but that was one of the shows that got dropped. I sure do hate that. We saw Immortal 2 weeks ago and the Unity tour was going to be the icing on the cake. I thought of it as our way of paying our respects to Michael since we can't get to Forest Lawn.

Thank you for the review.

@Ericakane,
Thank you for your thread! I agree with a lot of what you said. I also wished they had MICHAEL up on the screen singing his own lines...and felt the sound system had way too much base. I'm sorry your show didn't start on time...Ours went as scheduled. But, I am not surprised at what you say, because I do find the Jacksons to be very laid back, but sometimes, to the fans advantage as well. The hologram was not ever supposed to be. If you watched the Jacksons on Pierce Morgan they confirmed that it was just a rumour. Apparently started by Marlon, who was joking. Having said that, however..l also want to add some positive to the mix.

I saw the show and personally really enjoyed it. Yes there were flaws but I felt the positive outweighed the negative, for unique reasons that I didn't expect. This was a MICHAEL crowd and many of the fans who I met, oddly enough, went for the very same reason I did...Not because they were Jackson fans, but because they wanted to be in the same room as Michael's blood, his brothers, who he grew up with and touch a part of his life and to feel close to Michael...if only for a moment.

The crowd was mixed at my venue, and was rocking throughout the show, young and old..er. Eye-wink Lets not forget, the Jacksons are 61 and younger, so they will draw an older crowd too. Even so...there was never a dull moment. Dancing, singing , crying and screaming when Michael's beautiful smile appeared on screen. Sad

I thought the Jacksons honored Michael with a beautiful tribute and it is so obvious that they miss him and love him very much and felt compelled to share the stage with his spirit next to them . These are things I needed to see for myself.

But there was something different and unique about the Jacksons that made me fall in love with them. I have been to many concerts, but none where I felt like the fans were the most important part of the show. The Jacksons really outdo themselves trying to make the fans feel special. We were even allowed us to snap pics, as long as we didn't shoot long videos.

Getting close to the Jackson's wasn't an issue either. You were allowed to come right up to the stage and SHAKE YOUR BODY...down to the ground. I can't really explain it, but the warmth of the JACKSONS is nothing like I have ever experienced before, at a concert. I came away with something I never even considered. I came away, a JACKSON FAN and I learned a lot about them at their concert. Smiling I got what I went for , and more!!!
Maybe the sound system wasn't perfect and a few other things need tweaking, but you still have what it takes!!!
MARLON, MICHAEL WILL ALWAYS BE MY #1, That will NEVER change!
BUT YOU STOLE THIS SHOW!!!! Eye-wink Smiling Let me see YOU shake YOUR body!!! Eye-wink

TO ALL THE JACKSONS:
Thank you for your wonderful show. I cannot explain it, but God knows, and Michael above, that your show gave me some sort of closure to Michael's tragic death. I hope and pray your concert will continue with great success!!!!
