Hello everyone,
I've been trying to find MJ fans in Vancouver, but no luck so far. I feel so lonely with so many people around me, at the same time there is no one I can share my feelings about Michael's life&work& tragical death.

I can remember seeing the Jackson Five the first time they were on tv. I was about 12 at the time. I loved them immediately and followed Michaels music from then on. He was a musical genius and a survivor of childhood abuse. God bless him and his children. I never believed the accusations of abuse against him. He didn't deserve to die the way he did. His songs were about love and goodness. It was the greed and love of money of those around him that led to his death. Michael and his music will live on in my heart forever.

Conrad Murray has been convicted of "Involuntary Manslaughter" where the maximum penalty allowable is only 4 years in jail! From what has come out in the trial, Dr. Murray's actions were FAR FROM "involuntary"! He was in complete control of his actions and he knowingly broke the law and every ethical code for which doctors should stand! He not only showed complete negligence, but complete and utter incompetence! Thankfully, the jury got it right!
Hopefully, Judge Michael Pastor will do the right thing on November 29 and sentence Conrad Murray to the maximum allowable sentence - 4 years in prison! Considering he may only serve half of that sentence, this deplorable doctor may only serve 2 years in a county jail! Or even worse, he may get straight parole or house arrest! This is not acceptable for what many of us see as murder! As an additional slap in the face, Murray will be allowed to profit from his documentary that he was filming for the past several months, since the agreement for the documentary was signed before the conviction. Which means he is making money off of murdering Michael Jackson!
I am proposing to the District Attorney of Los Angeles and to the Governor of California to enact, "MICHAEL'S LAW". A law that will make this kind of gross negligence by health care professionals, prosecutable as 2nd Degree Murder, and not just involuntary manslaughter. Doctor's wrongfully and negligently prescribing harmful narcotics has become an epidemic and it must be stopped! Simply having the AMA chastize these doctors or removing their license from one state or area, is NOT acceptable! There needs to be stiffer penalties for doctors that are enabling addiction and causing harm, hardship and DEATH. These doctors are no different then drug lords, who are distributing illegal narcotics! In fact, these doctors are worse, because they are doing it within the system that patients are supposed to be able to trust to HEAL them! These doctors are breaking the law for financial gain, with absolutely no regard for human life! Murder is murder, regardless of the weapon!
Perhaps, even in death, Michael can help to heal and change the world. His music and talent was a wonderful legacy, but he wanted more - he wanted to make the world a better place. Perhaps, "MICHAEL'S LAW" will save others from the extreme deviations in standards of care, from self-serving, greedy doctors like Conrad Murray.

Hi MJ fans in Vancouver. You are lucky to have one another. I live in Whitehorse so feel very much a loner in the MJ fan world.
My status as a fan happened around the end of August of 2010. Have always known about MJ of course, but outside of his greatest hits I didn't pay much attention. Then last year, it wasn't until later that i realized it was around his birthday, I started looking up info on Michael. At first I wanted to check out his dance moves - thanks to youtube, then I wanted to find out more about his philanthropy, next I wanted to see what he was like live in performance, then began an obsession with his songwriting and lyrics - which blew me away and now I'm into trying to learn some of the dances. So yes, Michael has become a magnificent obsession.
I used to feel sorry for people who were die hard Elvis fans - but now I know what it's like. I'll be going to the Cirque show in Van in November. Judging by how fast the tickets were selling - there's got to be a lot of interest in Michael. NIce to have this forum to at least virtually be in touch with others who love Michael.

I stumbled across this thread while trying to find something that Vancouver might be doing for the one year anniversary of Michael's tragic death. I definitely feel the MJ lovers in this city are few and far between. So good to see there are at least a few others who share my die-hard fan status. Would love to hang and talk MJ to any Vancity fans!!

I’m from Burnaby and posted once, but my message disappeared the next time I logged on. I feel like MJ has woken me up and I have never felt so alive. I always liked him, but led a busy lifestyle and didn’t make much time for music.
Since he died, I haven’t missed a day listening, learning and enjoying him in all his beauty. I have a constant soundtrack of his songs running through my head always. I too am blown away by how few people I know care about him like I do. My hubbie is so great about my obsession with him. What gives me joy is knowing I will love MJ ’til the day I die.
I would love for us to all get together sometime, like on his 1 yr anniversary in June? Sorry I have no Avatar. Coming soon...
