Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
FEBRUARY 5, 2010
In this video artists, Akon, Jordin Sparks and Celine Dion talk about the recording of the new version "We Are The World", Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. Original collaborators, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie decided to ask a new generation of artists to rerecord the song to benefit those in Haiti. The original "We Are The World" was recorded 25 years ago and was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie with Quincy Jones producing the recording. The original recording generated over $30 Million to help impoverished people in Africa.

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
It's not going to be the same without the king. I wish all these artists tried to create something new and fresh. I understand it's for a good cause but the original was perfect in it's own right. Just leave it alone. Michael forever.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
New Recording of We Are The World , for help people HAITI , at receive the hardship , Artists , everybody can help them ,because , , we are the world , be the music that Micheal writes to establish come to for the charity , I will never forget him for suing Michael over this song, ...
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
It will be unfair and a shame to not put Michael Jackson on the record. This is his invent, his idea, his! If he did not write We Are the World song with Lionel, this project now would not exist. Put the King of Entertaining!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
KEEP MICHAEL JACKSON'S VOICE ON THE RE-RECORDING. This version will be hollow without him. I like Janet but she shouldn't be singing his part. No one compares to Michael. He was perfection. Besides, he's not here to participate in this production SO KEEP HIS VOICE IN THE RECORDING IN HONOR OF HIM AND AS HIS CONTRIBUTION TO "THIS" PRODUCTION". He created the ENTIRE melody and wrote MOST of the Lyrics. It is only fitting that HE remain on the recording.
Quincy and Lionel, it feels like you are stealing Michael's legacy by not telling the world how MICHAEL created this song and that Lionel's contribution was minor and added after Michael created the entire song. Lionel, BE HUMBLE like Michael was and share the truth with the world. People will love you for it.
Raising money for Haiti is great (I've donated money weeks ago and will continue to donate). I only ask that in doing this, you do it with RESPECT for Michael. PLEASE LEAVE MICHAEL'S ORIGINAL VOCALS ON THE RE-RECORDING.
**The original song should be on the album for all of us who prefer the original.**
Also, as others have stated, I think re-releasing Michael's "WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE", would be most appropriate and would raise a lot of money for Haiti.
SONY, TALK TO THE JACKSON ESTATE ABOUT RE-RELEASING MICHAEL'S
"WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE" WITH THE PROCEEDS GOING TO HAITI. PLEASE DO THIS. IT WOULD RAISE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE PEOPLE OF HAITI.

PLEASE GO TO THE LINK BELOW AND VOTE THAT MURRAY SHOULD BE CHARGED MORE SEVERELY - TODAY. The result will announced on show this week so please VOTE TODAY. I know it may seem silly but people (like the District Attorney in LA) are watching and are interested in the public's opinion. Let’s fight to increase the charges against “Dr.” Murray. Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
My comment is to Roy... First of all you need to shut up.. Michael gave so much to children that he is in the Guinness book of records, what he spent his money on was his business. secondly, get your thoughts straight before posting, you're all over the place. Regarding his children, I doubt they worry about biology... who cares??? He is the only father they know and that's all that matters. I personally raised three children that are not mine, who cares about Biology, only because its Michael's kids... As for him dangling blanket over the balcony, wasn't smart and he acknowldged it but he certainly did not want to hurt his child and is no reflection on how he feels about children. MJ was hounded constantly by the media and never portrayed for who he really was. As for the sleepovers, so what if he said he give sleepovers, And? that is not a crime.. I bet you would have let your child go and if you say you wouldn't have, you're lying... Look, there was clearly something missing in Michael's life, his childhood, but to speculate and pass judgement is just wrong. He did not harm any children, was it normal for a 40 yr old man to have sleepovers with children no, but its not "wrong" and it doesn't equate to him being a pedophile. A pedophile would NEVER admit to having sleepovers or say anything remotely questionable or that would possibly raise doubt. He was honest and naive to a fault. MJ was persecuted. Also, he never gave those kids wine, so what if he referred to it as Jesus Juice, (prob more hearsay) bu tso what if he did, so did my grandfather, but he never gave us any alcohol... you have no facts only conjecture. You not only need to get your thoughts straight but your facts as well... As for Prince and Paris accepting the lifetime achievement award on behalf of their father, it was very appropriate, who better to receive it. Its only exploitation if they were forced to do it which they were clearly not FORCED. Those kids are a reflection of Michael just as your kids are a reflection of you, and my children, me. He obvioulsy was a hell of a father or he would have raised freaks instead of incredibly articulate kids.... You asked for facts in your last paragraph, I'll give you some FACTS. The prosecution surprised MJ ok.. 14 computers were seized and the house turned upside DOWN! If that man was a pedophile, they would have found SOMETHING!! ANYTHING!! He was in Africa being a Philanthropist, as usual, when he returned home.... SURPRISE!!!!! Dirty and Low-Down.... The element of surprise usually finds somthing but they came up EMPTY! It was not Michael's idea to settle, nor did he want to, he was advised by Lisa Marie and his attorneys to just settle the case. Don't ask yourself why would he settle, that's easy, he was an easy target whom was advised to get on with his life.. Ask yourself why would the family whose son was subjected to the so called "smoking gun" have you read it? I haven't, but I heard about it, NO FACTS AT ALL, only the prosecution's own biasness.. but if your child, your precious child was subjected to the horrible things alleged, would you just take the money and run? Never to be heard from again??? No good parent would. Not to mention the little boy did not want to testify and later sued his own parents for abuse.. I would take the person to trial and then sue him/her in civil court, you can always sue in civil court even if the person is acquitted. then here comes the second trial, ten years laer.. Tom Sneddon clearly had an axe to grind, he viciously pursued Michael. He hated him, its no secret that MJ wrote a song about him on his History CD... listen to the song if you haven't heard it. D.S. He initially pursued him to get a notch on his belt, if he was so concerned about children he would have locked up his friend who admitted to having sex with a 14 yr. old.. Sneddon had a friend who was accused of having sex with a fourteen year old girl and although the man admitted to doing so, said he was drunk and thought the girl was his wife. (google it) Tom did not pursue that case but yet he goes after Michael, wasting tax payers money just for Michael to be acquitted on ALL 14 CHARGES.. What a slap in his ugly ass face!!! 14 SLAPS! He should have been fired for wasting tax payers money, the tax payers in that county should have been outraged.. Please, by all means, get your facts straight cause you clearly don't have a clue. And what do you mean "Subjected to a sleepover?" do you know what the content of word means? they had a blast!!! you're an idiot. I'm not one to insult people, but I did a research paper on the Prosecutorial Misconduct on the 1993 case, you do not know what you're talking about. MJ would never have hurt children in any way. Its amazing how people believe what they want to believe.. I suppose Evan Chandler's suicide post MJ's death is a coincidence too huh... Guilt. He was just too damn selfish to leave a note exonerating Michael, but the truth will come out once and for all.. Leave Michael's family alone, you can't hurt him anymore but you can hurt the ones left behind... but what do you care. Take some of thos FACTS you requested and look them up if you're interested in the truth...

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE:
Dont ever lose sight of the gift that is you. When life seems to knock you down, get back up and get back in the game.......Remember what you're made of. Remember what's flowing in your veins. Remember what you were given, and remember what you went out and created on your own. Like any great masterpiece, you're not done yet. Inside you is the best of everyone who has come before you-------and the best of everyone yet to be. You can forget some of what life handles you, but never ever forget who you are. YOU ARE A TRUE GIFT TO THE WORLD.

Today I wanted to make sure you know.

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Always the best is only originally version - so don't do new version - better sell old version again!!!!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Will Michael's voice be included in this remix? If not, how and why would you not include it? After all, he is the author. Leave the song alone and just re-releast it.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
They should leave the song alone because the artist today arent that creative to make the song have that much feeling to it. i think its going to sound horrible ecspecially if they have the rappers rap. The only reason their using this song is because they know their creative enough to write their own
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I totally agree, we want the original, with Michael not the new and what I don't understand at all is Quincy Jones being a part of it, I will never forget him for suing Michael over this song, saying he didn't write it... THIS FEELS SO WRONG...

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I myself would rather see the song left alone, but if they feel it needs to be redone I hope they do it with MJ style and leave his flavor in it. He was so proud of this song they better do him right!!!! I am sure MJ would have reacted to this tragic earthquake, probably writing a new song with original content, face it he was the person who wrote all the blockbuster charity songs, MJ still lives on and will always because everything he has done is timeless!!!!!!No matter how many tragic episodes happen in the world for yeara to come, they will feed off his content and songs because they truly really mean something!!!!!!!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Michael was an artist who always strove to out-do himself or bring something new and magical to his songs and performances. He was ALWAYS creating, always exploring new ways to bring the message home... to touch the heart and inspire us to make a change. While I am personally deeply attached to the original WE ARE THE WORLD -- which is infused with Michael's heart, voice, and passion -- I embrace this new recording as well. The next generation of WE ARE THE WORLD tells everyone that the spirit of brotherly love is alive in the music industry, and sends the message that Michael would want to send: WE ARE THE CHILDREN. WE are the ones who make a brighter day. Today, as in 1985, artists uniting to lend their talents to this cause, to send hope and help to Haiti, is the right thing to do. I hope that ALL MICHAEL'S FANS will get behind this effort and purchase the single to raise even more than $30 million to help our brothers & sisters in need. I express my gratitude to Quincy Jones, Lionel Richie, Michael's children & family members, and all of the artists who have given their voices to this effort. I have no doubt that Michael's spirit will give it life once more. It is ALL FOR LOVE.

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I've heard the demo version of Michael and loved the lyrics he sang on it better than on the released version... There's a slight but essential difference! For example, in "take the chance" in order to help someone means we see a possibility to help as a gift from Heaven! The same-thinking minds can perceive the different approach to the same issue... I don't even know who wrote which version, but I definitely identify myself much more in the "raw" one...
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Is Michael's solo/voice on this new version???? If not that will be wrong on so many levels and we should do something about it......
Anyone no?????
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Celine Dion almost made me cry! It is really so crucial that we carry forward the message Michael instilled in us of hope, love and giving. You can't get any better than that.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I am truely delighted that Quincyy thought he needed to redo WE ARE THE WORLD, but MJ FANS would prefer to buy the original song in which Michael's voice is heard. If there's nothing wrong with the song why change. It grossed over 30 million back then why sholdn't it do the same today. We love Michael Joseph Jackson. We are willing to do what ever is right for Michael's sake!! I don't want this song to be tarnished by the vocals that are not heart-felt. We are the World, We are the Children, we will start Giving to make this World (Haiti) a better place for you and for me!!! I've already given by texting and donations over $100, but I'm willing to give more for this cause, IF I COULD LEND MY HANDS TO COMFORT I WILL, IF I COULD LEND MY SERVICE TO REBUILD I WILL, IF I COULD LEND MY SHOULDERS TO CRY ON I WILL, IF I COULD LEND MY ARMS TO CARRY SOMEONE I WILL, IF I COULD SHED TEARS TO HELP GREIVE I DID, IF I COULD CRY AND ASK THE LORD WHY?- I DID, IF I COULD RAISE MONEY TO HELP I DID, IF I COULD PRAY FOR "QUICK" AID AND SUPPLIES I DID. WHATEVER IS NEEDED TO GIVE, I'M WILLING TO GIVE JUST LIKE ALL OF MJ'S FANS.

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
No offense to the people who are trying to remake the "We are the world song" but where were these people when Michael Jackson wanted someone to talk to, I wonder?...People of Haiti, you are in our prayers! God bless! RIP MJ!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Though I think, it Will never be like "we are the world 25 years ago", It is a Good Idea!!
Michael would be proud because his legacy has made us aware that we need to help people, to help childrens. This is It! Love, love and L.O.V.E.! Nothing Else.
Michael, I love you so much! God Bless You.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I think this ia a wonderful idea Michael Would be happy to see this.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
i'm sorry but we want the original version with Michael's voice no one can sing this song the way he did you can feel his concern and it comes from his heart and soul i can not accept a new version of We Are The World without Michael it really makes no sense.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Michael believed that one of his major roles on earth was helping others, and he did it. There are so many ways he achieved helping others, but the most powerful was his music. Let there be music, take his plan further. I am sure he wouldn't mind who is singing along, as long as this helps the world, the people in need.
I keep remembering how his voice filled Staples center on his memorial day, and that touched each and every one of us to the core.
When will the artists think of a memorial concert fit for the king? Wouldn't he smile down on us from heaven?
RIP
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
In spite of what Quincy stated, I am glad that we did come together to do what MICHAEL would have done if he was here. I'm proud that someone remembered MICHAEL'S LEGACY for GIVING. Let me thank everyone who contributed to this new recording. Thanks to all who believed in MICHAEL'S MUSIC to come aboard and lend a helping hand. This venture is to bring about AWARENESS, AWAKENING, AND HOPE TO PEOPLE. I still miss Michael and I long to hear his voice as a part of the new creation, IT'S ALL FOR LOVE ; L - O - V - E.

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I'm so excited for it!!! I just wanna say "I love you Michael!!!" I think I like the old one better!!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I'm just wondering, are they keeping any of Michael's original recording in the new version? Michael's voice was by far the most beautiful in the original recording. To lose his voice in the new version would be understandable as it is a NEW version, but Michael would have wanted to be a part of something for Haiti relief...I just think it would be so fitting to have his voice present. Maybe I'm just too sensitive.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
hope they keep Michael on it though.. The song just isn't the same without him, and if they do take Michael out of the song, it will be a huge mistake..!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I would not normally speak out on an issue like this. If re-making the designated ANTHEM to Michael's humanitarian mission will raise much needed help for Haitti, then who could deny the need for doing so. However .... we have been making statements, for months now, on how much this world is going to miss Michael, and his "touch" on our lives. My sense is that through things such as this re-making .... we are going to begin to discover just how powerful and meaningful such statements will be to us, OVER TIME. I believe that as time goes on, and the more people like Quincy and Lionel (only to name a few) do projects that erase Michael from his own legacies, attempting to replace his work with such counterfeits, WE THE WORLD are going to begin to realize more and more what a very powerful and comforting force our precious Michael was for us all. And the longer that things really are just not the same in this world without him, the more we will begin to realize for ourselves, as individuals, there truly will not be another Michael before us, again. A song can be a song with a very powerful message, but when you erase Michael's essence and true dedication for mankind from it, all u have is a song sung by many people intended to assist people in distress. Call me hard nosed about Michael's legacy, but I believe that there will be a few instances, such as this effort, where some small success will be seen .... but over time, the pazzazz of creating re-productions of Michael's work is going to lose its ZING. Just as we saw on this years Grammy's show. They tried to take Michael's masterpiece and recreate it. Even with all that talent on stage attempting to out-shine Michael, it had a FLOPPING effect. How dare they dishonor his hard work and dedication in such ways. You cannot re-produce a KING like Michael, tho' many have tried and failed. Good luck to Quincy and Lionel, in your efforts to ride on Michael's legacy in order to give spotlight to lesser humanitarians and artists, under the guise of helping Hatti. What a NOVEL idea. And if it were not for these reasons that you are really doing this, then why isn't Michael's voice from the original dubbed in???? This original project meant the WORLD to Michael, literally. His heart and soul was in this project. It was the ANTHEM of his life-long mission. I believe that should be better respected. And because Michael made projects for aiding the world such a priority in his life, I support whatever can be done to help the people of Hatti ..... but unwillingly support THIS project, on principle alone. It seems to me .... if true motives were in the right place, and there is so much "equal" humanitarianism and gifted talent to the original going under headphone on this project, then why was not a NEW PIECE born from all this talent and humanitarianism?????? Projects such as this one only force people's judgement to avoid being taken in by the lowliness of this world that attacked Michael all his life. It makes a person wonder and pay closer attention to TRUE motives. Just sayin.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
This song was a collaboration between Michael Jackson, Quincey Jones and Lionelle Richie. Having said that, the demo version was out at some 24 years ago and in that you will notice that 70% of the song was Michael. No disrespect to Mr Jones and Mr Richie. I am a fan of both but having said that, this was MJ's project and we shouldn't be forgetting him or replacing him. His vision was always for the privileged ones to come to the rescue of those who weren't. Whether it was poverty, illiteracy, disease, destruction of planet, etc... . And that was how the "We are the World" project started. And as we all know some 25 years later no one has been able to put together anything new and they are just going to polish the old one, which is OK. We understand that the generation has changed and there are new faces in the music world who are good and are willing to help for a good cause. But Michael's legacy has to live on and it is our responsibility to do that. Specially with something that was" his" to begin with. No one should sing Michael's lines. His original voice has to be there. Not even Janet's or Jermain's. His family has to be invited as part of this. Yes we should stop mourning his death, but we as fans shouldn't let go of celebrating his life either.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
The original recording is one of the best songs of all times. I don't know how the new version could be but without our beloved Michael it can't be as good as the old one. RIP Michael, heaven is now much more heavenly and the world is now much colder than before. Your Iranian fans love you and pray for you, I hope you pray for us to become our freedom, I know "freedom for all" and "justice for all" was always your dream.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I think it is wonderful that they are doing the song agian. The people in Africa need all the help they can get!! I love the song too. I'm sure they picked some really good voices for it too. It will be a bummer that MJ's voice wont be in it though. Maybe one of his brothers, sisters or his kids. That would be cool. I can't wait to hear it!!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
Why all the hassle if you just wanted to collect donations for Haiti. Why not just re-release the original "We Are The World" by MJ? I believe that more people will be inspired to hear MJs voice and buy the records in honor of MJs love to help those who are in need. I'm sure MJ will be more proud as he listens from up above. It's really not the same without Michael. But if the project is on the way, PLEASE, MJs voice "got to be there". Thx so much for your kind consideration. Michael's fan forever.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I want to buy origin version this song. You should sell it again. I paid for Haiti some money but this new version I don't wont to buy - it's not fair, write new song for Haiti and then record it.
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
no offense but i think that the older We Are The World is always going to be better, and the newer We Are The World to me isnt going to be nothing with MICHAEL JACKSON, i mean MJ had this special way of doing things and no one can ever make a better We Are The World than the one made 25 years ago, R.I.P MJ you still live in spirit.
"THIS IS IT: Michael Jackson's Leadership Decoded & Continued" book, chapter "Was I married to the Smooth Criminal?"
Hello from Japan,
I think if they are going to record the song again, they need both songs in the album. As Michael is the best. And they wrecked his "Earth Song" at Grammies. It looked they did it for PR only to sell more tickets to Grammies. It really upset me.
Changing the subject.
Today I have published a new chapter for the book I am writing for Michael Jackson:
Chapter:
"A LETTER TO MICHAEL JACKSON & GOD:
WAS I MARRIED TO THE SMOOTH CRIMINAL?"
Free download from my blog:
http://www.it-for-all.com/health-for-all/blog/2010/02/for_michael_jackso...
In the chapter I also explain the song "Superfly Sister" from "Blood On The Dance Floor" as I understand it from my family history and HIStory........
Please help me find MJ! Please!!! MJ, I still think you are alive.
With LOVE
Natalia Roschina
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I've learned today (according to Entertainment Tonight" that Michael's parts are being sung by Janet Jackson. At the recording; however, Janet was not shown. They also had a strange man present dressed completly in a green suit (green screen). I don't know if it is to input Janet as she might be recording separately or if they are digitally inputting Michael (which would be great).
Any ideas?
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
i love We are the world its the best song iv'e ever heard i cant wait to hear the new recording of it!!!
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
cant wait to see how it turns out i know it will be amazing!!!! wish michael could sing for the new one also...i love you more applehead
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
wow! it is noticeable that it will be an amazing project, yet it will never be as good as the one with HIS wondrous voice. I love/miss you Michael.
Great Idea but not correct at all
At the first moment.. This project looks great and promising and reflect the humanity and giving behind the idea .. I am sure that Michael Joseph Jackson (RIP) is very happy for that project.. But the negative side is that the project will reproduce the artistic legacy of the greatest musician and philanthropist- Michael Joseph Jackson (RIP) who is legendary and invincible.. Really, this is not a good idea.. So, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie can write another song instead of reproduction and alteration of the original one.. The best idea is to reissue the original song and I am sure that it will achieve more records than the newer version.. The people looking for the professionals like Michael Jackson and the other singers in the original album not to the new generation of singers.. But if the new generation want to contribute in the humanitarian work, then they can write and produce different song..

Morning Fellow Michael Jackson Fans,
I think that is a wonderful idea. I heard about on the Grammy Awards
and on the News.
They oughta fine someway to put Michael Jackson's voice on it also. I know
that would be the first thing he would do, is go to Haiti and help the children
there.
I forgot when the new version of "We Are the World" will be released.
Sincerely,
Terry
Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
I HAD TO COME BACK TO THIS ISSUE AND SAY "CREATE YOUR OWN"!!! MICHAEL HAS GONE THROUGH SO MUCH WHILE HERE ON EARTH, LET'S HONOR HIM IN DEATH BY LEAVING EVERYTHING THAT MICHAEL ORIGINALLY POSSESED OR HAD HANDS IN MAKING A-L-O-N-E!!
WE AS MICHAEL FANS WILL FOREVER SUPPORT EFFORTS TO HELP AS LONG AS WE KNOW THAT MICHAEL'S LEGACY IS NOT BEING COMPROMISED!!!!
WE WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY REMAKING OF "WE ARE THE WORLD" !!!!!!!
I HEARD A SINGER WHO SAID SHE WAS MUCH YOUNGER THAN THE OTHER SINGERS IN THE STUDIO AND SHE DIDN'T REALLY KNOW MICHAEL, BUT WAS GLAD TO BE A PART OF THIS HUMANITARIAN EFFORT. GREAT! BUT IF A SONG WAS NEEDED - IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN, CREATED, AND PRESENTED AS A HUMANITARIAN EFFORT ON BEHALF OF MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON, BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT HE WOULD HAVE DONE, HIMSELF!!! QUINCY COULD HAVE PRESENTED "WE ARE THE WORLD" AS ITS 25TH YEAR IN MEMORY OF MICHAEL!!! SALES WOULD SURPASS THE 23 MILLION SOLD 25 YEARS AGO.
AS I STATED, WE WILL SUPPORT AND GIVE LIKE MICHAEL WANTED US TO DO THROUGHOUT HIS MANY SONGS AND SPEECHES. BUT UNDERSTAND, WE WILL NOT ALLOW COMPROMISING ON ANY LEVEL TO DESTROY MICHAEL'S LEGACY. WE LOVE MICHAEL, HIS CHILDREN, AND THE JACKSON FAMILY. IT'S ALL IN LOVE L-O-V-E

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
The should have used the never released Michael Jackson charity song WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE THAT THANKS TO SONY NEVER GOT ITS EXPOSURE, THEY WOULD HAVE NOW HAVE A CHANCE TO BRING IT FORTH TO THE WORLD WHICH IT DESERVES. WHAT SURPRISES ME IS THAT THE ARTISTS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THAT SONG NEVER RALLIED FOR MICHAEL FOR IT TO BE RELEASED MOST OF ALL CELINE SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED IT WELL ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE THANKED MICHAEL VERY EMOTIONALLY IN THE DEMO 'FOR WRITING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG". With that said I feel they should have never touched such a classic from Michael as WE ARE THE WORLD and concentrated on the as Michael said 'SEQUEL OF WE ARE THE WORLD NAMELY WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE!!!!!!

It's Not Going TO Be The Same Without Michael.
The Greatest Singers Ever Came Together In "We Are The World"
The Singers Today, They're Ok. They're Not Legends.
All I'm Saying Is, It's Not Going TO Be A Hit Like How It Was In 1985.
Michael Is A Legend. They Should Put Michael On It Because He Made "We Are The World" Happen.
&& Saved Alot Of People.
Michael, My Angel, We're All With You Taking Care Of Your Beautiful Children.
WE ALL LOVE YOU MICHAEL.

Re: Artists Talk About Michael Jackson and The New Recording of We Are The World
To Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie .. Shame on you to alter and reproduce the artistic legacy of Michael Joseph Jackson.. 99% of this song is written by Michael J. Jackson.. Its shame to reproduce it by the new generation of singers who are not legends.. Snoop Dogg sing "We Are The World"??!!.. Whats the hill??!!.. Its shame on you to help Haiti by stealing Michael Jackson's legacy.. Think twice before release it.. What happen to you Lionel Richie??.. Michael is your friend.. shame on you again..
Dr. Conrad Murray Arrested
Thank God! Dr. Conrad Murray was finally charged with the murder of our Michael Jackson. Michael's parents and several brothers and sisters were there. Katerine Jackson even spoke to the news. Took 7 months! And this arrest was supposed to happen a week ago. And how dare Murray go and visit Michael's grave!!! Did he actually get in? I thought only family and close friends were allowed. IF HE GOT IN, WHY CAN'T WE HIS FANS GET IN.
Michael will get justice!

"Original collaborators, Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie decided to ask a new generation of artists to rerecord the song to benefit those in Haiti.
I don't like the idea
.
Why borrow/re-record?
So many of them, in the "new" generation, give credit to Michael's influence in their lives & careers; well . . . show us what you've learned: Why not just write a song for Haiti?
