my childhood, first love age 6 or 7 abused

Michael, the two of us need to look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own I'll never be alone
And you my friend will see you've got a friend in me
Michael, you're always running here and there
You feel you're not wanted anywhere
If you look behind & don't like what you find
There's something you shold know; you've got a place to go
I used to say "I and Me"
Now it's us now it's we
Michael, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do I wish they would try to
I'm sure they''d think again if they had a friend like Michael
Michael, I love you more than anything in the world & I would never hurt you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smiling <3 <3

"Ben" is a song written and composed by Walter Scharf and Don Black and recorded by Michael Jackson for the Motown label in 1972.

Originally written for Donny Osmond, "Ben" was offered to Jackson as Osmond was on tour at the time and unavailable for recording. The single was the theme of a 1972 film of the same name (the sequel to the 1971 killer rat movie Willard).

Ben is The song that I remember Michael Jackson by. I used to listen to his music all of the time. I did not realize that He was the one that Wrote and sang that song, until he died. I remember listening to "Ben". And I miss Michael. I had a car accident and I don't remember a lot, but I do remember hearing That song, and it was by Michael Jackson. He was soo Gifted and Sweet. He wanted to Help The World. If he wouldn't have died I think that He would done sooo much more for the world!! The Michaels Doctor that was paid to watch him and keep Michael from overdoing it , while he was on his last tour, should not get a way with not doing his job when Michael Hired him, he was expected to keep him safe. And "Michaels Doctor "did Not do that. "Ben" is such a Beautiful song!! What a Great Voice! and he was only a young boy, when he recorded it. He was only like 12 or something.

the love michael jackson and i love the song "ben" because every time i hear it reminds me of thinking of michael jackson he was little and he had a rat name Ben and he plays with the rat when his partensgo to bed and one night he went to go to Ben in the Kiten and he look for Ben for 10mins and he is calling for Ben and he look under the table and Ben was dead and michael jackson eyes were filled with water and he ran to his partens room and he cryed all night and that is why i love Ben By Michael jackson

This album is great!!!! Though everyone lovees Ben, I do too, my fave song off this album is Shoo-Be-Doo-De-Doo-Da-Day! It's just fun!! And if you go on YouTube, you will find this very funny vid of Mike singing Ben in fast motion. He sounds like a chipmunk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love this album!

I was in the car with my mother (and 14 yrs old at the time), when WABC radio in NY announced Michael Jackson's new song, "Ben." I immediately cranked-up the volume and then ran out to buy the single. A tender ballad of loneliness and friendship, the Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe winner for Best Song, "Ben" firmly established Michael Jackson's solo recording career as a young adult.

With a heart and soul well beyond his fourteen years, Michael reached out to all of us in 1972, and its his close, personal style of communicating lyrics that became the hallmark in all of his subsequent concert performances. In Michael's sensitive voice, "Ben" transcends the subject matter of the film (a young, lonely and ill boy befriends a rat) and becomes a song of inner turmoil and teenage angst. It would be only after the success of the "Thriller" album that Michael would publicly reveal his traumatic and profoundly lonely childhood and adolescence to us - thus giving "Ben" a far more profound meaning.

As a teenager, I played my single of "Ben" until I wore it out with scratches and skips. I bought two more copies of the single because of this, and then bought this entire album. I'd sing and cry along with Michael:
"With a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you, my friend will see
You've got a friend in me."

My girlfriends and I saw the film, "Ben" half a dozen times just to hear Michael sing at the end. His "live" version on the "Jackson's Live" is especially poignant. Michael would continue to include "Ben" right into the early leg of his Bad World Tour.

Michael's second solo album also has a funky cover of "My Girl" and a rockin' "We've Got A Good Thing Going."
