The 1988 video for Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana” took place in front of a live audience Directed by Joe Pytka (“The Way You Make Me Feel”), the video takes place in front of a live audience. In between his “live” performance, the camera moves to scenes of “Diana” (played by Lana O’Day) walking down a dark alley, approaching the concert . As the song ends and Jackson exits the stage, he jumps into his waiting limo--to find Diana waiting for him. The video won the “Number One Video in the World” at the 2nd World Music Awards in 1989. The song also reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988.
