Filipino, Philippines "Dancing Inmates" from Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a maximum security prison, were treated to a visit by Michael Jacksons long-time choreographer Travis Payne and dancers Daniel Celebre and Dres Reid to learn performances from Michael Jackson's This Is It. The United States Library of Congress has officially inducted Michael Jackson's "Thriller" into the National Film Registry, making it the first music video ever to be added to the archives and only one of a few hundred films that have had the honor of being a part of the Registry.

Michael Jackson is set to receive a posthumous Grammy for Lifetime Achievement Award, adding to his previous 15 Grammy Awards. Others receiving the award include Leonard Cohen, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Loretta Lynn, Andre Previn, Clark Terry and late singer Bobby Darin. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award winners will be honored by The Recording Academy at an invitation-only event on January 30th, the day before the official Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

And now, the two-disc album companion to the movie Michael Jackson’s This is It released by Sony Music’s Epic Records makes its first week debut in the #1 spot of the Billboard Top 200 album chart, as well as the Soundtrack album chart.   U.S. sales of the album - which features new hit song “This is It” – totaled 373,100 units this week according to Nielsen Soundscan – this figure does not include significant sales from non-traditional retailers.
