I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...Michael had a way of singing that brought you right there, as if he was singing directly to you. I grew up in Chicago Heights, IL suburb of Chicago, 15 miles from the Indiana State Line and only 30 min from Gary. I remember being 12 years old in 1969, over at my freind Brenda's house and all she kept saying was, " You just have to hear this group" Back when CD's were called records. It was the Jackson 5, I'll be There, then they started playing J5 in constant rotation on WLS Radio in Chicago. With 2 older brothers, I was used to hearing rock music daily such as The Beatles, Supremes, etc, but when I heard the J5 and especially Michael, and how close they were from where I grew up, I've loved Michael ever since.
