Michael Jackson "Bad" subway station in honor of Michael??
I think this is a cool idea! I'm all for it
Boy, there is always someone trying to spoil something meant to be nice...
NEW YORK (AP) -- A New York City lawmaker wants to see Michael Jackson honored at a subway station where the star made the music video for "Bad."
Councilwoman Letitia James wants a plaque placed at Brooklyn's Hoyt-Schermerhorn (SHUR'-mur-horn) station — or to have "Jackson" added to the station's name.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman Kevin Ortiz said Monday it's unlikely. James, undeterred, plans a petition drive.
Jackson, who died June 25, shot the Martin Scorsese-directed music video at the downtown Brooklyn station in 1987.
Ortiz says the MTA prohibits station plaques. The agency is developing naming-rights guidelines.

i seriously don't know why anyone would not like this idea, it would be a great tourist spot (and believe me, if there was ever a case of "if you build it, they will come"...this is it)
locals and MJ fanatics know about it, but why not make it official?
I think that would be a great idea!! I love it!
I like the idea seems a nice tribute, thanks for sharing
This is THE idea!!!!!!!!
Why not???? This is really great and comme on.... would it be that hard for them to have it changed??? Naaaa!! They should do it and also: it would pay for itself. Imagine: all tourist vising NYC will add this spot to the "Must see places" once there. Ok, they have the small "Strawberry fields" at Central park ( just a small spot, but quite meaningful and people pay their respect to Mr. Lennon there, so it a nice place really. I am not a Lennon fan at all, but it was very special to be there).
So... what is so wrong about this?
Love the idea. They need to recognize that somehow. I always think of the Bad video when i'm in that station. I can't stand the NY Post newspaper though.
