HIStory World Tour - 16/11/1996 - Sydney Cricket Ground

If the first night wasn't enough, I came back for more.

There are no adequate superlatives for the HIStory concert tour as just spectacular and astronimical! Starlike quality, just like Michael was and will always be.

I was seated in lucky 13 - that is 13 rows from the front so the view was even better than the first night and managed to see Michael more in the flesh than having to rely on videos. Nevertheless, the concert was brilliant and nothing short of jawdropping!

Michael was ever the perfectionist from getting the lighting, props and sets right through to the music arrangement and choreography, he was not only the consummate performer, he was the quintessential professional on and off-stage.

From the prelude rocket ship journey into Scream right through to Man In The Mirror and Heal The World, it was like I stepped into another planet - Jackson that is, Michael Jackson - and was entranced throughout the entire concert. I loved when he said "Sydney" before embarking on the journey, as well as "I love you Australia!", which sent me goosebumps knowing how much he embraced this great country, even the flag parade during They Don't Care About Us when both US and Australian flags were on display.

I had goosebumps and blubbered during Michael's pause on I'll Be There as well as being enraptured and flummoxed to the pulsating strains of Billie Jean, which made me feel like I wanted to join in the hip-thrusting fun!

I loved the Bad tour, but with each production, it is more advanced and grand. The HIStory tour was not only nothing short of brilliant, it's.....HIStorical! Michael was like a koala having eating us all through the palm of his hands, bloody awesome!

Now every time I drive and walk past the SCG, I would now break down and sob uncontrollably in having wonderful fond memories of the concert knowing that he set foot in this equally historic sporting complex. Yet upon looking on reflection, they are indeed great memories but a rather melancholic and sombre pondering.

Remember Michael, if you're up there somewhere, Australia loves you MORE and will continue to love you more. You are a deadset, dinky-di, bonza, true blue bloody legend! God bless you, muah!
