In 1968, the latest incarnation of Madison Square Garden opened in the heart of NYC.By the 1970s, the arena was the premier showcase for music's biggest stars.

Though he'd played The Garden with his brothers in 1984, Michael Jackson made his solo debut when the Bad World Tour hit the World's Most Famous Arena for three nights in 1988, March 3, 5 and 6. The new album featuring the new song "This Is It" is available now! The 2-CD collector's edition features the music that inspired Michael Jackson's This Is It. The package includes a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal along with an 11"x17" (approx. 28cm x 43cm) movie poster. The Deluxe Four Vinyl LP (180g) set contains the original album masters of some of Michael's biggest hits, previously unreleased versions of classic tracks plus two versions of the never-released "This Is It"

No stranger to the Soul Train stage, the late King of Pop will be honored posthumously at the forthcoming 2009 Soul Train Awards. Michael Jackson's contributions to music will be recognized with a special "Entertainer of the Year" award during the show, scheduled for November 3rd in Atlanta.

Michael Jackson and many of the Jackson family have made appearances on Soul Train programming at the start of their careers. The memorable 1972 Jackson 5 performance of "I Want You Back" is still remembered because of the incredible showmanship.
Oprah Winfrey had Kenny Ortega as a guest on her show on Friday 16. Kenny was Michael's creative partner and director of the This Is It stage show. He is also one of the producers for Michael Jackson's This Is It movie. The interview will focus on Michael's final days. Earlier this year, Oprah did a special on her 1993 interview with Michael.
