Michael Jackson Expert Anesthesiologist Thinks Michael Jackson’s Physician, Dr. Conrad Murray Will Go to Jail
We have all heard this before, we all know this, but here's what a real anesthesiologist had to say about Murray's role and and lack of ethics in the treatment and death of Michael Jackson. Hopefully, someone of this calibre will be called as an expert witness when the time comes.

Expert Anesthesiologist Thinks Michael Jackson’s Physician, Dr. Conrad Murray Will Go to Jail
Posted on August 17th, 2010 by Hot Momma
With strong emotions both for and against Michael Jackson’s Physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, it is interesting to see what a colleague in his field thinks about his responsibility in the stars untimely death. In the hours before his death, Michael Jackson was treated to a buffet of tranquilizers, prescription drugs and a drug that is rarely administered outside the parameters of hospital and clinic-based medical procedures — propofol. It’s the use of that final drug, and the rumors of Jackson ’s love for the sleep inducer, which he called his “milk,” that makes Dr. Barry Friedberg, a veteran anesthesiologist and author of the book Getting Over Going Under (www.drbarryfriedberg.com), believe that the pop star’s death was imminently preventable and unnecessary.
“To say that Michael Jackson’s death was preventable is to say that the best way to avoid injury is not to jump off a cliff,” said Dr. Friedberg. “While there may be little difference in the logistics of administering propofol in a hospital and administering it in a private setting — as was the case with Jackson — it is not intended to be used as an intravenous sleeping pill. Propofol is a serious drug that is amazingly effective and gentle when used appropriately in surgical procedures. Dr. Murray was essentially enabling Jackson to use it like it was an over-the-counter pain reliever.”
Dr. Friedberg, who also runs a not-for-profit advocacy group that extols the virtues of brain monitors as a standard of care device for anesthesiologists, is closely watching Dr. Murray’s case. He believes that Dr. Murray, whose preliminary hearing on charges of involuntary manslaughter is set for August 23, will definitely be spending some time in prison for his role in Jackson’s death.
“The only way he walks away from this is in an orange jumpsuit and irons,” said Dr. Friedberg. “Although he may not have intended to kill Jackson, Murray clearly caused Jackson’s death involuntarily. What would have prevented Jackson’s death? A knowledgeable physician who, at the very least, both watched Jackson and monitored his oxygen would have not put his patient in mortal danger. If he wanted to be more responsible, he could have used a brain monitor to measure the propofol effect, and as a result, he would have prevented administering the dose that stopped Jackson’s breathing.”
According to court documents, Dr. Friedberg said some elements of the case are indisputable:
* Propofol is the last of a series of drugs Dr. Murray admitted to giving Jackson.
* Murray admitted being out of the room shortly after giving Jackson the propofol.
* Propofol is the drug the Los Angeles coroner declared was the cause of Jackson’s death.
“Let me emphatically state that since its 1989 introduction to the North American market, tens (if not hundreds) of millions of patients have safely received propofol,” he said. “It was safe because someone was watching and monitoring these patients, which represent two features apparently absent in Michael Jackson’s bedroom the day he died. Until recently, propofol has only been given by dedicated, trained anesthesia providers like anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists or even anesthesia assistants under supervision. When given for surgery, propofol is always monitored with electrocardiogram (EKG), blood pressure and pulse oximeter (SpO2). Neither of these devices was apparently in use when Dr. Murray administered the fatal dose. At this point, I don’t think it’s a matter if Dr. Murray is convicted. It’s a matter of when, and how long he will spend behind bars for his irresponsible and unconscionable conduct that is a disgrace to the vast majority of practicing physicians who remain true to their oaths to do no harm.”
About Dr. Barry Friedberg
A native of southeastern Pennsylvania, Barry L. Friedberg, MD (www.drbarryfriedberg.com), came to Palo Alto, California in 1975 to complete his formal education with an anesthesia residency at Stanford University. Following the successful completion of his residency and the requirements of the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Friedberg became a Board Certified (or Diplomate) Anesthesiologist in April 1980. He has also lectured on safer, simpler, cost-effective and better patient outcomes to anesthesiologists and surgeons in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Israel and Venezuela.

How murray still sleeps at night and carries on practicing everyday is well beyond me. this man cares nothing about what he has done. in his twisted mind he probably thinks he will come out of it as a celebrity. put him on death row see what he thinks then.
This sucks so much Michael should still be here.
If Murray was smart he'd tell who paid him to murder michael. That way if he goes down they go too.
I will be very interested to see how many doctors will be called upon for their expert opinion. Does anyone know if Dr. Barry Friedberg will be called to testify?
I have no doubt of his guilt, every doctor knows the limits in medical practices, Murray crossed that limit. The first thing is the patient safety, that man did not care about it.
Go to hell Murray!!!!
They are making sure everything is correct, as much as they probably yearn to "jump the gun" to have mugga locked up, (and as much as we all yearn to jump the gun) they need to dot all the I's and cross all the T's. I'm convinced it will go in all our and our man's favour.
COME ON MICHAEL! USE YOUR MAGIC!
The man might go to jail but the mastermind could still be free.
i hope he'll rotten in hell where he deserves to be!!!
But feeling of unfairness pervades me. It's been nearly 13 months and nothing really happened yet apart from announcements of future court dates! When Michael was accused, everyone including media and law were all over him IMMEDIATELY! So this is VERY S-L-O-W.
I for one am not totally convinced that Murray is paying for his own defense with his earnings. Working with medicaid patients in Houston, Texas is not highly remunerative and he has many children (7, possibly 8 by now) to support.
But, as Timaran says, he has not been convicted of anything yet. That in itself is a potential stumbling block for the Medical Board of California to revoke his license prior to a conviction. The wrongful acts that are the subject of the criminal charges would essentially be the same acts that would be scrutinized in an administrative hearing regarding his license. The defense of Murray's license is too closely related to his defense against the criminal charges for him to have what this society and the courts deem to be a "fair trial" in the criminal court. The MBC, the Attorney General, and the DA must all work cooperatively on this and not step on each others toes, and most of all stop playing politics (I know that's a lot to ask). To minimize the possibility of Murray walking on any technicality whatsoever, the State of California had better be carefully lining up its ducks. In the meantime, I will continue to watch and pray.
I will leave you with this thought:
Where does the quotation "The wheels of justice grind slowly" originate from?
THE MILLS OF GOD (THE GODS) GRIND SLOWLY - "At some point a sinner will be punished; many decisions or events that are important in one's life take time in coming. Some 1,600 years ago the Greek philosopher Sextus Empiricus wrote: 'The mills of the gods grind slowly, but they grind small.' One of Longfellow's translations was a 17th century poem, 'Retribution,' by Friedrich Von Logau:
Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small;
Though with patience he stands waiting, with exactness grinds he all.

Thanks Timaran.....I am gritting and waiting.....and waiting......and.....
If it is apparent to us and this Dr. that Murray is guilty, then how come this guy is still walking the streets and practicing medicine?
===================
He's still walking the streets because he has not yet been convicted of a crime in a court of law by a jury of his peers. The mills of the law spin S-L-O-W-L-Y, as we all know by now.
NCJennings is also correct--if his license were to be yanked now he would not be able to afford his super-duper legal council. Because this case is going to come down to highly technical and specialized expert testimony that must be paid for, a conviction under those circumstances could all too possibly be overturned on appeal if the appellate court agreed that Murray had been deprived of his right to due process and an adequate defence. I would rather grit my teeth and wait...and wait...and wait.... than to risk rushing through the process and letting Murray walk free on a technicality.
Patience...
With the L.O.V.E.
The doc was only there for six weeks. Negligence is the word though. Truly.
angel.....thank you for this informative posting ......
The only reason Dr. Murray was hired as MD for Michael Jackson...besides his degree...is the fact that he agreed to do what Michael requested...even though it was considered highly un-orthodox! That right there is a red flag!.....The man was so desperate...he couldn't see clearly enough to turn down this dangerous... but highly paid offer! Again...money is the root of all evil...and there are those people out there who will succumb to this every time. Unfortunately ....our dear Michael found someone who did. As Dr. Freidberg said...'He may not have intended to kill Jackson...Murray clearly caused Jacksons death involuntarily'....And that is just not good enough....as a result we lost Michael Jackson!! ....The finality of this ...is unbearable at times!
(angel... hey where have u been?..miss u on the sparklettes)
@ChocoNymph...girl...I'd suggest he keep his ass plastered to the wall...but what would be the fun in THAT?!!
Good work Angel Watcher,
this is indeed a wonderful sign and encouraging. I just hope that Dr Friedberg will testify and uncover the TRUTH to this lowife murderer.
May Conrat Murderer be burnt at the stake and rot in hell like the lowlife murdering bastard that he well and truly is!

This is very encouraging. We just need to keep praying that a jury will see it that way & convict this scumbag!
Yeah, he'll need it Junky for the amount of crapping he'll be doing.
Anybody wanna pitch in to buy Bubba a life-time supply of soap for Murray to drop in the shower?
I have a good feeling that which ever way it goes, there will be" someone" out there waiting to get him.
Thank you Angel Watcher...so encouraging!
Thanks for the interesting article. Pray that this a***hole does time in prison as he should!!
Any REAL doctor would be insane to defend CM. Has there been one that has? I don't think so. Kudos to this guy for speaking the obvious.
Either way - IF he does goes to jail, it will only be a mockery of Justice IMO. The punishment does NOT fit the crime!
.
Thanx for sharing this angel
≈^*..*^≈
Amen to all that has been said. Pray without ceasing.
God does not sleep!..its in Gods hands..Justice will be served one way or another!
and secrets are not secrets forever...
Let's pray that JUSTICE will finally be served!
I saw this.I really believe that Murray deserves to serve time for what he did!
He belongs in jail. He broke his Hippocratic oath by putting his patient in danger, whether his patient wanted the drugs or not. Dr. Barry Friedberg is so correct
JUSTICE for Michael Jackson...I will keep praying for this to happen.. Dr. Murray should be held accountable...
Let's all keep hope and the spirit of love alive during these upcoming difficult days....
Regardless of the outcome I, we WILL celebrate and remember with so much love the KING OF MUSIC! Somewhere on another thread an MJ family member said "the day love was born", MJ's Birthday.....
....
Peace and Love to all, L
