Joe Jackson upset by lack of respect by media for MJ

Got this update from another MJ fan site:

He is very upset that the media has not recognized the amazing record breaking acheivements that Michael Jackson has once again broken!

He is not the self proclaimed king of pop..HE IS THE THE KING OF POP!
Remember it was Elizabeth Taylor that called him that, in fact she said "The King of Rock Pop and Soul"
Even Oprah Winfrey at one point thought that the title "King Of Pop" was too limiting for him and that he was more like the "King Of Music." Which I agree he is not only the King of Pop, but the King of Music. His record breaking acheivements, over the years prove this.

NO other artist has accomplished what he has recently with his record breaking tickets sales acheivement for his upcoming tour in London! THIS IS A FACT and not self proclaimed!

Michael Jackson has broken these records with ticket sales:

1. The biggest audience ever to see an artist in one city.
2. The most amount of people to attend a series of arena shows.
3. The fastest ticket sales in history.

Michael sold out a million tickets in 2 hours, at one point the website was getting 16000 requests per minute for presale codes, the ticketmaster website crashed in an attempt to keep up with ticket sales proving that Michael is still loved and adored worldwide!!!

So please re-post, but also spread the word around and fax and email all media outlets about why they are not reporting Michael's incredible accomplishments?? If it were the other way around it would be all over the news!

It feels like another conspiracy attempt to conceal the truth from the public, by not reporting it they way they normally would with any other artist who would have acheived this incredible accomplishment!

Spread the word....

Well..

Maybe you should ask me what I meant and not assume that I was calling her a bad mother. I said Diana worked hard, was helpful to the world and still had time to be there for her kids. Jade on the other hand had the chance to get better and didn't. Diana on the otherhand didn't have the chance to choose her fate.

Nowhere did I write "Jade was a terrible mother" because you are right. I have no idea

I am not going to cry over someone I don't know or get all upset about it, because to be perfectly honest? I more important things in my life to worry about.

LIKE SEEING MY HERO!!!

P.S. I refuse to debate this any longer because this is a Michael forum. THAT is who I am interested in.

nope

because you have insinuated in your thread before last, that she didnt look after her children? How on earth would you know that?....just because she went to another reality show? so what, the kids have a father, and a nan....im sure they were well looked after...

your discussion about the media, turned into digs about Jade. I agree they're making a fuss of Jade on the news (when there are millions of people that die that go unheard of) but thats the media for you, but jus sayin no need for the digs. I read somewhere the other day, someone said "i hope Jade's kids get cancer"...That is awful (not sayin you said or think that)...but why do these people say this things? whats the point, let her rest in peace. if its not nice or relevant, it doesnt need to be said.

Excuse me...

I was talking about the MEDIA. The media have absolutely trampled on Michael and everything wonderful he has done. And I'm sorry, but why should we have to have the death of someone rammed down our throats?

I am not meaning to cause offence, the topic was about the media and it's rumours.... Jade is and has been part of the media for some time now and that is what I was referring to.

how has a michael jackson website thread turnt to a discussion about Jade

She may have saved quite a few young girls lifes, who are now demanding smear tests.

I think everyone should let her rip, if no one has anything nice or relevant to say, then they shouldnt say it all.

That is exactly who I meant. The woman who is right now being compared to Princess Diana!!! I am offended by this, because Princess Diana was out there everyday helping the people... she was also there for her children. Not like this woman who went off to ANOTHER reality tv show when she should have been going to the doctors after they TOLD her to get checked out!!!

Anyway, this is about Michael.... sorry just the whole thing has me extremely ANGRY!

Michael has more class, dignity, love, respect, generosity in his little toe than anyone I have even MET! He should have the red carpet, royal treatment. He is a king after all Eye-wink

Another important fact

MJ is also the king of pop since Thriller is the album that's sold the most copies ever! I think that's an amazing achievement also Smiling

more facts

Jackson's official website allowed fans to register early for a "pre-sale" draw. The website could not deal with the large number of registrations—reportedly up to 16,000 applications a second. In the space of 24 hours, nearly a million people registered for pre-sale tickets, enough to fill the venue fifty times over. Fans from over 200 countries registered for the pre-sale draw.

Sales of Jackson's albums increased following the O2 press conference. Overnight, sales of Off the Wall rose 200%, Bad rose 110%, Dangerous rose 165% and Thriller 25 rose 155%.

At this stage, sales of King of Pop were up 400% and sales of Thriller were up 200%.[

It's a matter of time

Just shows how fickle the press is. They don't report news we should know. They report what's popular! When these shows start in July, they will be camped out like hungry wolves waiting for some sign of weakness from the prey, sickness, broken or sprained limbs, mental issues... some sign he can't hack it so they can run with the headline that Michael disappoints once again! But what they will actually get is the biggest spectacle of showbiz entertainment, a comeback to dwarf all comebacks, the hottest ticket in modern history and those a**holes will turn on a f*ckin dime and report on all of it because it will generate ratings. This is what Michael knows, the media follows the dollar whether it is down a positive or negative path. The coverage WILL change and you won't be able to get away from Michael. Smiling

Haha, you are so right. I think I know who you mean.

Isnt it the same person that was bashed so hard by the press and the public?? She was seen as a racist and the controversy led to diplomatic challenges?

Its so funny, yet very scary, to see how the media works and what power they have. The person is a great example. From being bashed hard from the media and then eventually from the public... and then over a night she became the UK national symbol, a loved person by the public and the press symbolized her like a friggin mother theresa... when they in first place tried to knock her off. And all the people seemd to forget all the controversy surrounding her.

That's the media for you.

Where they ridicule a person who has done so much for music and done so much for the WORLD! The man has SAVED lives and CHANGED the rest... but of course, the media want to degrade his character because they can't stand the fact that he is back, and that he is once again the most loved sensation that ever lived. They want to force the negativity down our throats... and in the mean time, all we do see plastered all over the news is the dying and now the death of a woman who hasn't acheived anything off her own back. A person who was famous... for the sake of being famous and not for being an inspiration or for having any kind of talent whatsoever. Alot of you will probably know who I am talking about, and probably won't agree with me, but this is just my opinion.

I just think it's sick! I want Michael's farewell to be extraordinary, full of excitement. I want him to be acknowledged for the wonderful human being he is. I want Michael-Mania with all the trimmings. The man has been through so much in his (nearly) 51 years of life. He deserves nothing but the best! And THAT'S what he should be getting.

But as long as us, the fans, realise this... they can't break him down and he will NOT go underappreciated.

I agree!

I am also fed to the teeth of the media discussing Michael's finances - it is his business and I know all of us true fans wish him the very best of everything. I wrote earlier on here, that the TV news presenters were very negative when they were awaiting covering Michael's press conference. One even stating 'do we forgive him?' - I was so angry I called out at the screen and shouted 'forgive him what?'!

Michael owes us nothing, he has touched all our lives, has given us all years and years of great pleasure, both by his singing, his dancing and just being him. If people don't like him, then they should be big enough to just leave him alone (like his song!). There are huge stars I do not like or enjoy - and I personally can't be bothered making any kind of issue over it - they do not touch me, so I leave them alone!

I think Michael needs to be much much more highly commended than he is! He is a huge enigma and we'll never quite see the like of him again. Re the title King of Pop - I personally don't like this 'Pop' business as it spanks of mindless pop music. Michael is an artist and has soul roots and this comes through so I prefer Elizabeth Taylor's version 'King of Rock, Pop and soul'! He is a living legend and this deserves to be recognised rather than the media's continued frenzy of negative sensationalism about him - how about some very positive sensationalism about him as an artist for a change!

I agree

I totally agree it makes me so angry that some journalists still need to make snide comments when reporting about Michael's concerts and some even went as far as trying to dismiss his achivement of selling out all 50 dates in 3 hours. Can you not just give the man the respect he is due.

agree but..

agreed he hasnt had the recognition he deserves but he certainly didnt sell a million tickets in 2 hours!

would be impossible for any server to handle that traffic-there were still tickets on presale day 5 hours after they went on sale-I should know, cos I kept refreshing ticketmaster til I got them.

similar story on general sale day so maybe 10-12 hours is a bit more accurate.

I totally believe it!!

Hey I love it! More money in MJ's pocket! So there's a big slap in the face to all the haters calling him broke..... Heck if MJ was going broke (Which he's not) the majority of his money is spent on paying attorneys, and other fees involved with all of the countless frivolous lawsuits made against him. Why doesn't the media talk about that??? He's been sued a number of times by crazy women claiming to be his lover stating that they are the real "Billie Jean", he's been sued by people claiming to have had his kids, he's been sued by people that have said that alot of the music MJ has written was not actually written by him... all kind of lawsuits have been filed against Michael Jackson.

:)

On Amazon, a variety of Michael Jackson's albums have already jumped to the top movers and shakers list. Less than five hours after the broadcast on American Idol, "The Essential Michael Jackson" has increased its sales by 2,377% and went from rank 8,001 to 323 of all music sold on Amazon. "Thriller 25" has seen an increase of 411% (ranked 171), "Number Ones" increased by 384%, and "Off the Wall" by 260%. Each of the previously mentioned albums are already within the top 25 largest increased music sales on Amazon. Since Amazon's figures are calculated based on 24-hour trends, the total impact of sales may not be realized for another day or so. Sales on iTunes are also increasing, with "The Essential Michael Jackson" showcased at the top of the home page, on a special sale in connection to American Idol. Other Jackson albums are climbing the iTunes Pop charts as well.

U.K. entertainment retailer HMV is reporting that sales of Michael Jackson's greatest hits album "King Of Pop" have shown a four-fold increase at HMV stores in the U.K. and Ireland and online following the announcement of his O2 concerts. Sales for "Thriller" are up by 80%."

f*** the press

I agree.

I made a thread last week about this. I was so pissed that no media in Sweden reported about his record-breaking. Of course they reported that the sold-out the concerts.. but no cover or details at all about his record-breaking achievment and that his albums are back on charts, for example sales for Thriller have incresed by 80% since the announcement.

However. I wrote a kind e-mail to newspapers/blogs in Sweden, aswell to International blogs/media...and gave them this information and providing links so they could check up the source.

Many wrote back and thanked me and said that they were going to check it up. It went many days and finally I saw something about Mj and I really thought it was about the information I gave them. Hell No. The thing they reported was the rumours that he was doing more surgery to look fresh for his upcoming tours.

Its so f***ing frustrating and I was so pissed.

PS: you forgot to add that he he even broke the record with his advert to the longest TV advertising ever bought by an artist (the concert official advertising on ITV1 8th march).
