"Yes, yes Michael Jackson was a human being, but dammit, he was a King. Long live the king."

Madonna's speech made me cry so wonderful... everytime I watch it ... i think i've watched it 3x now. Her speech was moving, touching and a tearjerker!!! so true...that's what you call a tribute! I praise and proud of her giving such great speech honoring MJ not just being great but his humane side w/c is vulnerable and naive. A big hand of applause.

i like this part...."In a desperate attempt to hold onto his memory, I went on the Internet to watch old clips of him dancing and singing on TV and onstage and I thought, 'My God, he was so Unique, so Original, so rare. And there will never be anyone like him again.' He was a king. But he was also a human being and alas, we are all human beings and sometimes we have to Lose things Before we can Truly Appreciate them. I want to end this on a positive note and say that my sons, age 9 and 4, are obsessed with Michael Jackson. There's a whole lot of crotch-grabbing and moonwalking going on in my house, and it seems like a whole new generation of kids has discovered his genius and are bringing him to life again. I hope that wherever Michael is now, he is smiling about this.

They are both true artist. I believe a true artist who is not only genius but also has a big heart!!! wonder they have similarities {as she quoted) yet different in the unique way both are M's MJ and Madonna..tnx for u"re speech!

Amen. That was a speech that probably "called out" all of those who had abandoned him and are now feeling incredible guilt. But more than that, it was the truth and it was lovely to see all those teary eyes and bowed heads as she spoke. They know. Every one of those celebs knows a story like this or has had moments of terrible loneliness...they know. And she NAILED it. It was beautiful.

It was even better to see the defiance on Janet's face after she looked skyward to her brother. That was a woman out for serious "revenge." I really could see how deeply wounded she was, but also that she is a warrior! It was amazing.

He IS THE KING now! forever and always, I glad she acknowledged the abandonment from herself and his peers, I look at Madonna through new eyes.

I have a new found respect for Madonna. I think she showed how much of a real woman she was when she went up there with that speech. She admited to abandoning him like so many did, but the difference is she acknowledged her fault. I'm almost positive she's opened even more minds to the idea of MJ's innocence with that speech. I loved that last part that's quoted as the topic. Made me jump up and grab my crotch and squeel HEEEEEEEEE HEEEEEEEEEE! Long live the King of Pop!

Only thing I dont like is was. He always IS what everyone who loves him calls him. he is here and he is still the king. Smiling
