My 1st major memory of Michael Jackson was one Halloween I was watching tv with my dad and his Ghosts music video came on. (My dad called it the Dancing Skeleton video haha) and we watched that. Even though I was probably only 4 or 5 at the time I thought it was epicly cool! Of course I'd heard ABC 123 Rockin Robin, those were my favorite songs when I was little. I also remember hearing Beat It and Bad a lot too. Then on June 24th my dad got home from work and went into his music room and came out with Michael's Thriller album. I listened to it and fell in love with his music! (thats how i became a fan)
The next day my mom told me that he died and I was in shock the whole day I couldn't process the thought that the man who created this amazing music passed away or even would ever pass away! All of my friends always made fun of him and said mean and false things about him and I never said anything I just kept quiet. After listening to Thriller I planned on listening to more of his music and thats what I did, I didn't become a huge fan just because he died. A few days later I heard about his memorial and decided to enter to win tickets, just as kind of a fun thing. The day before I receive an email at 3 o clock saying that I won and my mom didn't believe me so I showed her that it was legit! When she said she wouldn't take me to the Dodger's Stadium to get the tickets I was hysterically sad and then I realized how much Michael meant to me. Luckily my mom's friend Jillian took me to stadium (I live about an hour away) and I was so happy. The next day we left the house at 5 in the morning so we wouldnt hit traffic and got there by 6. We stood in line for about 3 and a half hours and during that time I got 3 MJ shirts . Once we went in the Staples Center the screen said the memorial was going to start in half and hour but then it was delayed cuz MJ's casket was still arriving. Then once everything started I realized how sad his death was to me. I was silently crying up until Usher started to cry then I was just bawling my eyes out I couldn't take the sadness.......
So now I am always listening to Michael always watching his videos and everything in my life seems to be centered around him now...some days are harder than others and everytime I hear I'll Be There or Gone Too Soon, doesn't matter where I am I'll just lose it. Only 2 of my friends are fans of Michael but they arent as into him as I am...
So I'm a fan because I am in love with everything about him and everything he did from his music to his charity work and everything in between, haha i'll keep that short part and sweet
