To couple a happy day with a mournful one would ruin the opportunity for millions of fans to CELEBRATE August 29th for many years to come as the day our dear, beloved Michael came into this world, bringing with him song, dance and the purest soul that would light our lives forever.
Rita: I love your 9/9/09 idea. I hope the powers-that-be read it & re-think the date yet again.

I LOVE that his bottom lip tilts off to the left in his smile. That unique characteristic gets me everytime.

frazzled, I think this is an endearing, beautiful and poignant song. I find it strange anyone on here who loves Michael would say otherwise.
I believe THIS IS IT is a love letter to those of us who have always loved Michael the Man. It doesn't matter when he wrote or recorded it, it resonates with me that he is singing this *for us*, *to us* right now, when we *need to hear it most*. And, if Michael did record this in the 80s, what is the irony of having a concert tour 20 years later promoted as your last tour, with the same moniker? There are no coincidences.
